Belmont, also known as Belmont Valley, is a community in Illinois, United States. It is located in DuPage County. Belmont is an unincorporated community. This means it is not officially governed as a city or town.

Belmont was first settled a long time ago, in 1835. It has a unique history of how it was governed.
A Look at History
Belmont became an official village in 1980. But later, in 2004, it stopped being a village. After that, parts of Belmont became part of the nearby town of Downers Grove.
Where is Belmont?
Belmont is found between Downers Grove and Woodridge. You can find it west of Denburn Woods. It is also east of I-355, a major highway.
Life in Belmont
Belmont has its own train station, the Belmont Train Station. This makes it easy for people to travel. A small stream called St. Joseph Creek flows through the community. This creek is a branch of the DuPage River.
Before 2008, Belmont had a small area with shops and businesses. This was along Belmont Road. Most of these buildings were taken down. This made space for a new underpass under the train tracks.
There used to be a post office in Belmont. It was called "Belmont Valley" and had the ZIP Code 60516. This post office closed in 2004.
Community and Population
The people in Belmont and the surrounding area get their water from a group called the Northwest Belmont Water Improvement Association. In 2009, this group served about 3,075 people. By 2019, the community's population was estimated to be around 5,250 people.
