What Happens in the Movie?
The movie begins with Ben, Gwen, and Kevin. They are trying to buy alien nanochips from some dealers. These chips are causing problems for Ben's Omnitrix. One of the dealers turns out to be Elena. She is a friend of Ben and Gwen from when they were kids.
Elena explains that she set up the meeting to find Ben. She needs his help to find her father, who has gone missing. Ben agrees to help her. Suddenly, the chips come to life and attack! A man on a walkway is controlling them. The group fights the chips, and the man and dealers get away. Kevin and Gwen don't trust Elena, but she says she wasn't responsible for the attack.
Investigating the Mysterious Chips
Back at their secret base, Ben, Gwen, Kevin, and Grandpa Max study one of the chips. They learn that the chips are a mix of living things and technology. Elena follows them and breaks into the base. Max tells her to leave. He explains that Elena's father, Victor Validus, used to work with him. Victor was let go because he stole the original chips.
Ben doesn't believe Elena is like her father. He decides to help her, even if it means going against Grandpa Max and his friends.
While Max is away, Gwen and Kevin look into Victor Validus. They find a video of Max talking to Victor. In the video, Victor warns that "the Hive" is coming. The Hive is a powerful mind that controls the chips. He says it wants to take over the planet. The chips can even take control of people's minds!
Ben and Elena's Search
Meanwhile, Ben and Elena go to Victor's old lab. The Hive has already cleared it out. But they find clues that Victor was studying and improving the chips. Elena shares that her father had been acting strangely before he disappeared. He also seemed to be the man who controlled the chips from the walkway.
A group of people controlled by the chips attack Ben and Elena. The Omnitrix has trouble working because of the chips. Ben can't transform. But he uses a scanning function on the Omnitrix to push the attackers back. This lets him and Elena escape.
They head to the Ship-It building to look for more clues. Ben starts to wonder if Elena is hiding something. He realizes the attackers knew they would go to the lab. Ben finds a delivery slip for that day. But Elena said her father had been missing for weeks.
The Chips Spread
Gwen and Kevin get to the Ship-It building first. But it's too late to stop the chips from being sent out. A Ship-It employee, who is controlled by the chips, meets them. He calls a bigger group of chips. These chips can now form solid shapes and weapons. They attack Gwen and Kevin, damaging Kevin's car during a long chase.
Ben joins them and uses Humongousaur to defeat the chip swarm. This completely destroys Kevin's car.
When they get back to headquarters, the chips have spread everywhere. There are millions of them. Gwen realizes the chips can learn and get smarter. The group also figures out that the chips have a queen. The people controlled by the chips keep mentioning her. They believe they can stop the chips by destroying the queen.
During their search, Grandpa Max gets controlled by the chips! The group notices that Barren Rock, Missouri, has the most chips. This is strange because it's not a big city.
Facing the Queen
The group sneaks into a factory in Barren Rock. Many people there are controlled by chips, including Max. They discover that the Queen has taken over Elena's father. His body is being used to make more chips very quickly.
Ben is worried about being controlled by the chips if he transforms into an alien. So, he uses the Omnitrix to become a new alien. He calls himself "Nanomech." He created Nanomech by scanning the chips' DNA. Nanomech flies into Victor's head to fight the Queen. The Queen tries to control Nanomech, but he resists. Meanwhile, Gwen, Kevin, and Elena fight the controlled people.
The chips in the factory suddenly become active. Nanomech uses the chips' own ability to adapt. He uses it to defeat and destroy the Queen! This frees everyone from the chips' control.
Afterward, Max says sorry to Victor. Max decides to retire and let Ben be the new leader. But Ben tells him no. The movie ends with Ben, Gwen, Kevin, and Elena driving home.

What's Next for Ben 10 Films?
In December 2009, there were talks about making a third Ben 10 movie quickly. This was because Ben 10: Alien Swarm was so successful. However, no new Ben 10 live-action films have been made since then.
