Benimarfull is a small town in the Valencian Community, Spain. It is located in an area called Comtat, about 14.5 kilometers (9 miles) from the city of Alcoy. Benimarfull is part of a group of 14 towns. This group works together to help the area's economy, culture, and education.

Exploring Benimarfull's Geography
Benimarfull is found along the CV-700 road. This road goes through the beautiful Gallinera Valley. This valley is famous for its delicious cherries. Several small rivers, called ravines, flow through the town. These include the Sofre, Benimarfull, and Albacar ravines. All of them eventually join the Serpis river. Benimarfull shares its borders with other towns. These include Alcocer de Planes, Almudaina, Benillup, Cocentaina, Muro de Alcoy, and Planes.
A Look at Benimarfull's History
The name Benimarfull comes from Arabic words. It means "son of the bitter fountain." In the mid-1200s, King James I of Aragon took control of the area from the Muslims. It then became part of the Kingdom of Valencia. Later, in the mid-1400s, it joined the lordship of Guadalest. In 1574, a leader named Juan de Ribera created a document. This document officially named the area "Benimarfull." This was the first time the town's name appeared in writing.

Benimarfull's economy mainly relies on farming. Farmers grow crops without needing extra water, like olives and cherries. The town is famous for its "Montaña de Alicante" cherries. It also produces "Aceite virgen de oliva Mariola," which is a type of olive oil. Benimarfull also grows many aromatic plants and spices. These are used to make teas and infusions. They are sold under the brand name Herbes del Molí. Interestingly, Benimarfull has a high average income per person. In 2020, it was about 23,205 euros per person.
