Benjamin Glazer (born May 7, 1887 – died March 18, 1956) was a talented American filmmaker. He worked as a screenwriter, producer, and director for many movies from the 1920s to the 1950s. He is famous for being the first person to translate the play Liliom into English in 1921. This translation was very important. It was used for the original play on Broadway, for the 1930 film version, and for almost every English production of the play for a long time. It also became the base for the story of the popular musical Carousel by Rodgers and Hammerstein, and for the 1956 film version of that musical.
