Bentleyville is a small town, called a borough, in Washington County, Pennsylvania, United States. It's part of the bigger Pittsburgh metropolitan area. In 2020, about 2,349 people lived there.

History of Bentleyville
Bentleyville got its name from Sheshbazzar Bentley Jr., an early settler. A post office opened here in 1822. The town officially became a borough in 1864.
Geography and Location
Bentleyville is located at 40°7′11″N 80°0′22″W / 40.11972°N 80.00611°W. A major highway, Interstate 70, runs along the northern side of the borough. Pennsylvania state Route 917 is the town's Main Street.
The borough covers about 3.7 square miles (9.6 km2) of land. A stream called Pigeon Creek flows through the town.

Police Department
For a few years, Bentleyville did not have its own police force. The state police helped keep the town safe. In 2009, the town hired the Southwest Regional Police. By 2014, Bentleyville started its own police department again.
