Beriguruk facts for kids
The Beriguruk were a group of First Peoples who lived in the Northern Territory of Australia. Sadly, it is thought that the Beriguruk people are no longer with us today. They had a special connection to their land and culture, which was passed down through many generations.
Where the Beriguruk Lived
The Beriguruk people lived in a specific part of the Northern Territory. Their traditional lands were located south from the mouth of the Mary River. They mainly lived on the eastern side of this river, moving further inland.
They did not often visit the marshy areas or beaches along the coast. These coastal lands were usually used by another group of First Peoples, the Djerimanga. The Beriguruk preferred the areas along the river, which provided them with resources for their way of life.
