Berlin, Texas facts for kids
Berlin is a small, quiet place in Washington County, Texas. It's known as an "unincorporated community," which means it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town does. Instead, it's usually managed by the county. You can find Berlin along U.S. Route 290, just a couple of miles west of the city of Brenham.
A Look Back: Berlin's History
Berlin was founded in 1864, which was during a very interesting time in American history. Many of the first people who settled and built up this community came from Germany. They brought their language, customs, and traditions with them, which helped create the unique character of early Berlin. This German heritage was a big part of how the community grew and developed.
