Bernardo Irigoyen was born on 3 September 1969. He is a talented cricket player from Argentina. He bats with his right hand and bowls with his right arm at a medium pace. Bernardo has played for the Argentine national team since 1990. He was born in the city of Buenos Aires.
Bernardo Irigoyen's Cricket Career
Bernardo Irigoyen started his international cricket journey in 1990. His first big game was in the ICC Trophy tournament. This event is like a World Cup for teams trying to qualify for bigger cricket tournaments.
Early Matches and Improvement
In his first ICC Trophy in 1990, Bernardo didn't score many runs. He got "ducks" (which means zero runs) in two of his three matches. However, he came back to play in the tournament in 1994. This time, he played much better. He scored his highest number of runs in an ICC Trophy match, getting 43 runs.
Strong Performances in Later Years
Bernardo continued to show good form in the 1997 ICC Trophy. He had the second-best batting average for Argentina in that competition. Only his teammate, Matias Paterlini, performed better. Bernardo and Matias were key players for Argentina's batting during that tournament.
After 1997, Bernardo didn't play for his country for nine years. But he was called back to the Argentine team in 2006. He played in two matches during the ICC World Cricket League. Even though Argentina didn't win those games, Bernardo was still an important part of the team. He usually played as a batsman in the middle or lower part of the batting order. He represented his country for over sixteen years.
