Who Was Bernt Anker?
Bernt Anker was born in Christiania (which is now Oslo, Norway) on November 22, 1746. His father was Christian Ancher, and he had a brother named Peder Anker. He was also cousins with Carsten Anker.
A Very Successful Businessman

He owned many important properties. These included Frogner Manor, a large estate, and Moss Jernverk, an ironworks factory. His amazing home, called Paléet, was located near Bjørvika in Christiania. After he passed away, this house was even used as a royal residence. It served this purpose until the Royal Palace in Christiania was finished.
