Bertram "Bert" Johnson (born October 20, 1973) is a Democratic former member of the Michigan Senate. He served the people of Michigan in important government roles.
Johnson represented the 2nd district in the State Senate. This area includes parts of Detroit, Highland Park, Hamtramck, Harper Woods, and the Grosse Pointe communities. Before that, from 2007 to 2010, Johnson was a member of the Michigan House of Representatives.

Education and Early Life
Bertram Johnson grew up in Michigan. He attended University of Detroit Jesuit High School and Academy. After high school, he went to the University of Detroit Mercy. There, he studied Criminology and Security Administration.

Starting in Government
From 2001 to 2006, Johnson worked for another politician. He was the chief of staff for Representative Bill McConico. A chief of staff helps a representative manage their daily work. They also help with important projects and decisions.
Serving in the State House
In 2007, Bert Johnson became a member of the Michigan House of Representatives. This is one part of Michigan's state government. In the House, lawmakers work together to create and vote on new laws for the state. He served in this role for four years.
