Albert Edward Curly Denyer (born 9 April 1893 – died 1969) was a talented English footballer. He played as a forward, scoring many goals. Bertie Denyer is best known for playing over 320 games for Swindon Town in the Football League.

Bertie Denyer's Early Life and Family
Bertie Denyer was born in Plaistow, England. He wasn't the only footballer in his family! His brother, Frank, also played football. Later, Bertie's son, also named Bertie, followed in their footsteps and became a footballer too. It seems football ran in the Denyer family!
Playing for West Ham United
Bertie Denyer started his professional career with West Ham United. He joined the club in 1909 and played there until 1914. During his time at West Ham, he played 46 games and scored 17 goals. This was a great start to his football journey.
Time at Swindon Town
In 1914, Bertie moved to Swindon Town, where he became a club legend. He played for Swindon Town for a very long time, until 1931. He made an amazing 341 appearances for the club, scoring 58 goals. This shows how important he was to the team.
Guest Appearances During Wartime
During the First World War, many footballers served their country. Bertie Denyer was one of them. He was a sergeant in the Royal Fusiliers. While serving, he was injured.
