Beta, Ohio facts for kids
Beta was once a small town in Fulton County, in the U.S. state of Ohio. It was located in York Township. Today, Beta is an "extinct town." This means it's no longer a busy place where people live and work. It's sometimes called a ghost town.
A Look Back at Beta
Beta has an interesting past. It was first part of Henry County. But in 1850, some land was moved. This land helped create Fulton County. Beta then became part of this new county.
The Post Office Days
A post office opened in Beta in 1857. A post office is where people send and receive mail. It was an important part of the town. The Beta post office stayed open for many years. It finally closed its doors in 1901. After that, the town slowly faded away.
