Raimundo Roberto Morhy Barbosa, known as Beto Barbosa, was born on February 27, 1955, in Belém, Pará, Brazil. He is a famous Brazilian Lambada singer and composer.
Beto Barbosa's Life Story
Beto Barbosa comes from a family with Lebanese roots. He started his music career in his hometown of Belém. His first big successes happened after he moved to Fortaleza, Ceará. There, he also took part in some local political activities.
In the 1980s, Beto Barbosa became very famous with his song "Adocica." This song, along with the band Kaoma, helped start the huge popularity of Lambada music. During his career, he won many awards. He was the only singer from northern Brazil to win the important Troféu Imprensa award for best singer.
So far, Beto Barbosa has recorded 22 albums. He has sold over 6 million records! His musical heroes were the Brazilian singer Roberto Carlos and Elvis Presley. In his personal life, he faced some tough times and challenges.
In 2022, he appeared on the reality singing show The Masked Singer Brasil. He performed while dressed up as a boto, which is a type of river dolphin.
