Betty Aberlin (born Betty Kay Ageloff; December 30, 1942) is an American actress, poet, and writer. She is most famous for playing Lady Aberlin on the beloved children's TV show Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. She was on the show for its entire 33-year run.

About Betty Aberlin's Life
Betty Kay Ageloff was born in New York City. She grew up in a Jewish family. She went to public schools in Queens and Staten Island. Betty graduated from Curtis High School in 1959. She then went to Bennington College. There, she studied art, modern dance, and literature.
Betty Aberlin started her acting career in 1954. Her first role was in a folk-opera called Sandhog at the Phoenix Theatre.
Her Role on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood
Betty Aberlin played Lady Aberlin for 33 years on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. Lady Aberlin was King Friday's niece. She was often the main human character in the Neighborhood of Make-Believe parts of the show. She helped explain the stories to the audience. Lady Aberlin was like a kind older sister to the puppet characters. She sometimes danced around the Neighborhood when she was alone. She also acted like a mother figure to Daniel Tiger.
Other Acting and Creative Work
Betty Aberlin also appeared on The Smothers Brothers Show in 1975. She was in other TV commercials too. For a short time, she had a late-night radio show in Pittsburgh. This show played jazz, comedy, and poetry.
In 1978, Betty played Cheryl and later Heather in a play called I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking it on the Road. This play was shown at the Public Theater in New York.
In the early 1980s, Betty Aberlin acted with Meryl Streep. They were sisters in a TV version of Alice in Wonderland called Alice at the Palace.
Later in her career, Betty became friends with filmmaker Kevin Smith. She appeared in several of his movies. These included Dogma (1999), Jersey Girl (2004), Zack and Miri Make a ... (2008), Red State (2011), and The 4:30 Movie (2024).
Betty Aberlin's Writings
In 2005, Betty Aberlin wrote an essay called "The Blonding of America." In this essay, she talked about how people are treated based on how they look. She wrote about buying a blonde wig. She noticed how wearing the wig changed how people saw her.
In 2008, Betty Aberlin published a book of poems. It was called The White Page Poems. This book was a companion to an older book of poems by George MacDonald.
