The Docherty Dares Programme
After his racing career, Bevan started a special project. It is called "The Docherty Dares programme." This programme helps people in New Zealand achieve goals they thought were impossible. It encourages them to challenge themselves.
The idea for the programme came from a man named Scott Kotoul. Scott was doing a bike race called the Round Lake Taupo Cycle Challenge. He was very tired after riding 80 kilometers. He said he would only try for 40 kilometers the next year. But Bevan dared Scott to try the full 160-kilometer race. Scott accepted the challenge! This story inspired Bevan to help others push their limits too.
