Bianca Florentina Ghelber (born Bianca Florentina Perie on June 1, 1990) is a talented athlete from Romania. She is best known for competing in the hammer throw event. In this sport, athletes throw a heavy metal ball attached to a wire and handle as far as they can. Bianca's personal best throw is an amazing 74.18 meters, which she achieved in August 2021 during the Tokyo Olympics (which were held in 2021).

Bianca's Athletic Journey
Bianca Ghelber was born in Roman, Romania. From a young age, she showed great skill in the hammer throw. As a junior athlete (meaning under 20 years old), she was incredibly successful. She won many gold medals in important competitions for young athletes.
Early Successes
Bianca won gold at the World Youth Championships in 2005. She also took home gold at the World Junior Championships in 2006. Her winning streak continued with more gold medals at the World Youth Championships and the European Junior Championships in 2007. She earned another gold at the World Junior Championships in 2008.
Olympic and World Championships
Bianca has represented Romania at several major international events. She competed in the World Championships in 2007. She also participated in the Olympic Games in 2008 and 2012. While she didn't reach the final rounds in those early Olympics, she gained valuable experience.
Later, she competed in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (held in 2021). There, she achieved her personal best throw and finished in 6th place. She also competed in the World Championships in 2022, placing 6th.
