Biescas is a cool town in Spain. It is located in the Huesca province of Aragon. The town sits by the river Gallego, high up at 875 meters (about 2,870 feet) above sea level. This area is known as Tierra de Biescas. Around 1,479 people live here.
Biescas has two main parts, like different neighborhoods: "San Pedro" and "El Salvador". The El Salvador area is even split into two smaller parts called "Barrio Bajo" and "La Peña" (which means "The Rock" or "High Neighborhood").
You'll find two churches in town. San Pedro's Church is in the San Pedro neighborhood. San Salvador's Church is in the La Peña area.
The area around Biescas, called its municipality, is quite large! It's like a big district that includes Biescas and several other smaller towns and villages. It's split into four main parts:
- Tierra de Biescas: This part includes Biescas itself, plus towns like Orós Alto, Orós Bajo, Oliván, Escuer Alto, and Escuer Bajo.
- Sobremonte: Here you'll find Aso de Sobremonte, Betés de Sobremonte, and Yosa de Sobremonte.
- Valley of Tena: This valley has towns such as Piedrafita de Jaca, Búbal, Polituara, and Saqués.
- Valley of Gavín: Gavín is the only town in this valley.
Other small villages like Ainielle, Barbenuta, Bergusa, Casbas, Espierre, Susín, and Javierre del Obispo are also part of the Biescas municipality.
