Biscoe is a small town located in Montgomery County, North Carolina, in the United States. In 2010, about 1,700 people lived there. The town got its name from Henry Biscoe, who was a big customer of the local lumber industry.

A Look Back: Biscoe's History
Before it was called Biscoe, this area had another name: "Filo." The name Biscoe was chosen in 1895.
Railroad's Role
Biscoe's early days were closely tied to the railroad industry. It was an important place for fixing railroad equipment.
In 1895, a railroad line was built from Filo (now Biscoe) to Star, North Carolina. This line was part of the Aberdeen and West End Railroad. Later, in 1897, this railroad joined with the Aberdeen and Asheboro Railroad.
Biscoe officially became a town in 1901.
