Bjarne Reuter facts for kids
Bjarne Reuter (born on April 29, 1950) is a famous Danish writer and screenwriter. He is best known for his amazing children's and young adult fiction stories.
Many of his books are set in the 1950s and 1960s. This was the time when he was a child and a teenager. His stories often take place in the Copenhagen area, where he was born in Brønshøj. Bjarne Reuter also wrote the popular Danish TV show and movie called Busters verden (which means "Buster's World").

Danish Ministry of Culture Prize
In 1977, he received the Danish Ministry of Culture's children book prize. This award celebrates great children's books in Denmark.
International Book Awards
He also won the Deutscher Jugendliteraturpreis in 2000. This is a big German award for the best children's book. He won it for the German version of his book En som Hodder (published in 1998).
In 2003, he was a finalist for another youth book prize. This was for his book The Ring of the Slave Prince, which came out in English in 2004.
