A Look Back: Bladensburg's History
The village of Bladensburg was first settled and officially established in 1853. For many years, it had its own post office, which helped people send and receive mail. The post office operated from 1855 until 1906.
Over the years, the number of people living in Bladensburg changed. In 1902, there were 82 residents. By 1925, the population had become 39. This number stayed the same in 1940, with 39 people still calling Bladensburg home.
