Bladensburg's History
Bladensburg was first planned out in 1833. When it was originally created, its name was spelled "Bladensburgh." A post office has been serving the community since 1834.
Local Institutions
For many years, Bladensburg was home to the East Knox Elementary School. This school helped educate many children from the area.
Bladensburg is also home to the Bladensburg Volunteer Fire Department. This department has 42 volunteer firefighters. They work hard to keep the community safe. It is the main fire station for the Bladensburg Joint Fire District.
