The Story of Blair's Sauces and Snacks
Blair's Sauces and Snacks is a food company based in New Jersey. They make many kinds of hot sauces and spicy snacks. The company and its founder, Blair Lazar, have been shown on many TV shows. These include FoodTV Unwrapped, the History Channel, and the Discovery Channel. They have also been featured in popular magazines and newspapers.
Blair Lazar started the company in 1989. He first made his famous Death Sauce while working as a bartender. People loved it so much that he began bottling and selling it. Soon, a whole line of hot sauces followed. These included sauces like After Death, Mega Death, and Sudden Death.
Blair's Death Sauce Collection
Blair's makes many different hot sauces. They are all part of the Death Sauce brand. The sauces have different levels of spiciness. Some, like Sweet Death, are milder. Others, like Ultra Death Sauce, are extremely hot. The hottest sauces get their extra kick from special pepper extracts.
The spiciness of hot sauces is measured using something called the Scoville scale. This scale tells you how much capsaicin is in a pepper or sauce. Capsaicin is the chemical that makes peppers taste hot. The higher the Scoville Heat Units (SHU), the hotter the sauce!

Blair's Reserve Collection
Blair's Reserve Collection features special, limited-edition sauces. These bottles are often signed and numbered by Blair Lazar himself. Each Reserve sauce celebrates a special event or experience.
The "A.M." series of reserves started in the early 1990s. Blair Lazar would dare customers at his bar to try "Blair's Wings of Death." These wings were made with his Original Death Sauce. If they could handle the heat, they could stay past the 2 AM closing time. This led to the creation of the 3 AM, 4 AM, 5 AM, and 6 AM Reserves. Other special reserves include "Caldera," "Blair's Holiday Reserve," and "Blair's Halloween Reserve."
Most of these special reserve bottles are now sold out. Collectors sometimes resell them for very high prices. For example, a bottle was reportedly sold for $5,450 in late 2004!
The 16 Million Reserve
Blair's "16 Million Reserve" is the company's hottest product ever made. It has an incredible 16 million Scoville units! To give you an idea, regular Tabasco sauce is usually between 2,500 and 5,000 Scoville units. This reserve contains only pure capsaicin crystals. It is the hottest possible sauce you can make using capsaicin.
Only 999 bottles of "Blair's 16 Million Reserve" were ever made. Each bottle was signed and numbered by Blair Lazar. All of them have been sold. This amazing reserve was even certified by Guinness World Records as the hottest product available at the time.
