Blake Thomas Beemer (born March 4, 1991) is a baseball coach and a former player. He used to play as an outfielder and first baseman. Today, he is the head baseball coach for the Butler Bulldogs team. He played college baseball at Ball State.
Playing Baseball
Blake Beemer grew up in Dayton, Ohio. He went to Northmont High School. There, he played baseball for three years and also played soccer. In 2009, his senior year, he was a great hitter, batting .422. This means he got a hit almost half the times he tried!
After high school, Blake went to Ball State University. He played baseball for the Ball State Cardinals. In 2010, his first year, he played in 51 games. He hit 2 home runs and helped his team score 28 RBIs. He also hit 11 doubles and scored 40 runs himself.
In his second year (2011), Blake had a bit of a tough start. His batting average went down. But he worked hard and by the end of the year, it was back up to .273. In 2012, as a junior, he hit 9 doubles. His senior year was even better. He led his team in doubles (16), triples (3), and walks (28).
Coaching Baseball
Blake Beemer started his coaching journey as a volunteer assistant for the Penn State Nittany Lions. He helped train the team's outfielders and coached first base during games.
In the summer of 2015, Blake joined the Eastern Illinois Panthers. He became their top assistant coach and also the person in charge of finding new players (called a recruiting coordinator). He helped find talented players like Trey Sweeney and Will Klein. These players later went on to play professional baseball.
In the fall of 2018, Blake returned to Ball State. He became the recruiting coordinator for the Cardinals. On June 21, 2022, Blake Beemer was named the head coach of the Butler Bulldogs.
