Blanca started competing in big events in 1983. At the Ibero-American Championships in Barcelona, she finished fifth in the 200 meters. She also won a silver medal with her team in the 4 × 400 meters relay race.
In 1986, she won two more silver medals at the Ibero-American Championships in Havana, Cuba. She got second place in the 100 meters and another silver in the 4 × 400 meters relay.

One of her biggest achievements was winning a silver medal at the 1987 European Indoor Championships in France. She ran the 200 meters in a super fast time of 23.19 seconds!

In 1991, she helped her team finish seventh in the 4 × 400 meters relay at the World Championships in Tokyo, Japan. She also won a silver medal in the 4 × 400 meters relay at the Ibero-American Championships in Seville, Spain, in 1992.
