History of Blue
When Blue was first settled, it was part of the Choctaw Nation. This was before Oklahoma became a state. The area was specifically in a place called Blue County within the Choctaw Nation.
Later, in 1886, some parts of Blue County were combined with parts of other counties. These were Atoka County and Kiamitia County. Together, they formed a new area called Jackson County. The Blue River formed the western border of this new Jackson County. The village of Blue was just east of this river.
