Blue Spring, West Virginia facts for kids
Blue Spring is a small, unnamed place, or an unincorporated community, located in Randolph County, which is in the state of West Virginia in the United States. An unincorporated community means it's a group of homes or buildings that isn't officially a town or city with its own local government.
The Story of Blue Spring
Blue Spring has a bit of history tied to its name. A long time ago, in 1876, a post office was opened there, and it was called Blue Spring. Later, in 1895, its name was changed slightly to Bluespring. This post office served the local people until it finally closed in 1942.
The community got its interesting name from a natural spring nearby. This spring was special because its waters had a noticeable blue color, which made it stand out!
