Robert Bodak's Hockey Journey

Starting Out in Hockey

Robert Bodak was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario. He started playing hockey in his hometown. He played for the Thunder Bay North Stars in a junior league. Later, he played college hockey for Lakehead University. This helped him develop his skills before turning professional.

Playing in the Professional Leagues

After college, Robert Bodak began his professional hockey career in 1983. He spent most of his time playing in what are called "minor leagues." These leagues are a step below the NHL. He played in the American Hockey League (AHL) and the International Hockey League (IHL). Some of the teams he played for included the Springfield Indians, Moncton Golden Flames, and Salt Lake Golden Eagles.

A Taste of the NHL

Even though he was mostly a minor-league player, Robert Bodak got a chance to play in the NHL. He played three games for the Calgary Flames during the 1987–88 season. Later, in the 1989–90 season, he played one more game for the Hartford Whalers. In total, he played four NHL games. He didn't score any points, but he did get 29 penalty minutes. This shows he wasn't afraid to get involved in the physical side of the game!

Finishing His Career

Robert Bodak continued to play in the minor leagues for several more years. He played for teams like the Binghamton Whalers, Binghamton Rangers, and San Diego Gulls. He even played in the ECHL for the Erie Panthers. He retired from professional hockey in 1992.
