Robert Crowell was born in Tonopah, Nevada. He grew up there before going to college.
His Education Journey
Mr. Crowell went to Stanford University. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1967. Later, he studied law at the University of California, Hastings College of the Law. He received his law degree in 1973.
Robert Crowell's Career
Before becoming a politician, Mr. Crowell served in the United States Navy. He was part of the military during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Navy as a captain.
Becoming Mayor of Carson City
In 2008, Robert Crowell was elected as the mayor of Carson City. He officially started his job in January 2009. He ran for re-election in 2012 without anyone running against him. This meant he automatically got a second four-year term. Under Nevada law, if no one runs against a candidate, their name is not put on the ballot.
