Sir Bob Bofeng Dadae was born on March 8, 1961. He is a well-known politician from Papua New Guinea. Since 2017, he has been serving as the tenth governor-general of Papua New Guinea. This is a very important role in the country.

Sir Bob Dadae's Early Life and Education
Bob Dadae went to school at Ombo Lutheran Agency in Derim. He also attended Bugandi High School. After high school, he continued his studies at university.
He earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Papua New Guinea in 1988. Later, in 1995, he completed a Master of Business Administration degree from Griffith University.
Before becoming a politician, Sir Bob worked as an accountant. He worked for the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Papua New Guinea. He was also a board member for Christian Press, a publishing company.
Becoming a Politician
Sir Bob Dadae began his political career in 2002. He was elected to the National Parliament of Papua New Guinea. He represented the Kabwum Open area as a member of the United Party.
After the election, he became the deputy leader of his party. In 2004, he was chosen to be the Deputy Speaker of Parliament. He was re-elected in 2007. From 2007 to 2011, he served as the Minister for Defence. This means he was in charge of the country's military and defense.
In 2011, he joined a different political party called the People's National Congress. He was re-elected again in 2012 under this new party.
Serving as Governor-General
Sir Bob Dadae became the tenth governor-general of Papua New Guinea on February 28, 2017. The Governor-General is the representative of the King or Queen of the United Kingdom in Papua New Guinea. This role is mostly ceremonial.
He received special honors for his service. On May 5, 2017, he was appointed to the Order of St Michael and St George. On August 18, 2017, he was also appointed to the Order of St John.
In December 2022, Sir Bob was nominated to serve a second term as Governor-General. He won the election and was sworn in again on March 16, 2023. This means he continues to hold this important position.
His Family Life
Sir Bob Dadae married Hannah Dadae on January 14, 1989. They had five children together. Sadly, Lady Hannah Dadae passed away on December 4, 2018.
Later, Sir Bob Dadae married Emeline Tufi Folau. She is from Tonga. They were married on January 11, 2020.
