Robert "Bob" Lackey (born April 9, 1949 – died June 4, 2002) was an American professional basketball player. He was born in Evanston, Illinois. Bob Lackey was known for his skills on the court. He played for the New York Nets in the American Basketball Association (ABA).

Bob Lackey grew up in Evanston, Illinois. He attended Evanston Township High School. During his time there, he became a star basketball player.
Leading the Team to a Championship
In the 1967-1968 basketball season, Bob Lackey led his high school team to amazing success. They had a fantastic record of 30 wins and only 1 loss. This incredible season ended with them winning the state championship. It was a huge achievement for the team and for Bob.

After high school, Bob Lackey continued his basketball career in college. He played for two different colleges.
Playing for Casper College
Bob Lackey first played college basketball at Casper College. He was part of their team from 1968 to 1970. This junior college helped him develop his skills further.
Starring at Marquette University
Later, Bob transferred to Marquette University. He played for the Marquette Warriors from 1970 to 1972. He was a very important player for them. His jersey number was even retired by Marquette, which is a special honor. It means no other player on the team will wear that number again.
