Boechera perennans, also known as perennial rockcress, is a type of plant found in the southwestern United States and northern Mexico. It's a member of the rockcress family. This plant is known for its ability to grow back year after year, which is why it's called "perennial."

What is Perennial Rockcress?
Perennial rockcress is a plant that can grow quite tall, sometimes reaching over half a meter (about 20 inches) in height. It has several straight stems that stand upright.
Leaves and Flowers
The leaves at the bottom of the plant are usually a few centimeters long. They often have a hairy texture and might have small teeth along their edges. As you look further up the stem, the leaves become smaller and are spread out.
Near the top of the stems, you'll find small, pretty flowers. These flowers are often purple or pink-purple and are spaced out on long, thin stalks.
Fruits of the Plant
After the flowers bloom, they turn into fruits called siliques. These are long, very narrow pods that can grow up to 6 centimeters (about 2.4 inches) long. Inside these pods are the plant's seeds.
Where Does Perennial Rockcress Grow?
This plant is native to specific regions. You can find it growing naturally in the dry, sunny areas of the southwestern United States and the northern parts of Mexico. It's well-adapted to these environments.
