Boigu Island Airport is a small airport that helps people travel to and from Boigu Island. This island is located in Queensland, Australia. The airport has special codes: GIC for its IATA code and YBOI for its ICAO code.
The airport first opened on 26 July 1981. It was named the Charlie Gibuma Memorial Airstrip. A government official named Ken Tomkins helped open it. Today, the Torres Strait Islands Regional Council manages and runs the airport.
