Bolma recens is a type of large sea snail. It lives in the ocean and belongs to a group of snails called molluscs. This snail is part of the Turbinidae family, which are often called "turban snails" because of their shell shape.
This snail has a special "trapdoor" called an operculum. It's made of a hard, chalky material, like limestone. This trapdoor helps the snail protect itself by closing off its shell opening.
There are two known types, or subspecies, of Bolma recens:
- Bolma recens clemenceae
- Bolma recens recens
