Boris Rõtov (Estonian: Boriss Rõtov) was a talented chess player. He was born on August 20, 1937, and passed away on September 10, 1987. Boris Rõtov was from Russia but became a well-known chess player in Estonia. He is famous for winning the Estonian Chess Championship in 1978.

Boris Rõtov grew up in Moscow, Russia. After finishing school, he moved to Tallinn, Estonia, in 1964. He lived and worked there for the rest of his life.
Chess Achievements
Boris Rõtov was a very successful chess player. In 1969, he won the Baltic Chess Championship in Riga. During the 1970s, he became one of the best chess players in Estonia.
He played for Estonia in the Soviet Team Chess Championships three times. These were in 1972, 1975, and 1975. He also took part in important International Chess tournaments held in Tallinn.

Estonian Chess Champion

His daughter, Regina Narva, is a Woman FIDE Master. This is a special title in chess. Regina also has two daughters, Triin Narva and Mai Narva. Both Triin and Mai are also chess players! In fact, Regina, Triin, and Mai all played together for the Estonian Women's team at the 2014 Chess Olympiad. This shows how much chess talent runs in the Rõtov family!
