Bosnia and Herzegovina at the 2018 Winter Paralympics facts for kids
Bosnia and Herzegovina sent one athlete to the 2018 Winter Paralympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. This big sports event brings together athletes with disabilities from all over the world. The only person on their team was 19-year-old para-alpine skier Ilma Kazazic. She was ready to compete in skiing events.
Meet the Team
Bosnia and Herzegovina had a small team at the 2018 Winter Paralympics. Only one athlete, Ilma Kazazic, represented the country. She is a talented para-alpine skier. Ilma competes in two main skiing races: slalom and giant slalom.
Three other people traveled with Ilma to support her. This group of four people is called the "delegation." The team included Leon Svetlin, who was the coach. Mirsad Muftić was the team doctor. Osman Hadžić was the chef-de-mission, which means he was the team leader. They all left for South Korea in late February. They arrived in the athletes' village on March 6.

Paralympic History
Bosnia and Herzegovina has never won a medal at the Winter Paralympics. Before 2018, only three athletes had represented the country at these games. These athletes were Nijaz Memic in 2010. Ilma Kazazic and Senad Turkovic also competed. All three of them were para-alpine skiers.
About Para-Alpine Skiing
Ilma Kazazic represented Bosnia and Herzegovina in para-alpine skiing. She competed in the slalom and giant slalom races. Her coach for these events was Leon Svetlin.
Race Schedule
The para-alpine skiing events at the 2018 Paralympics took place over several days. The downhill race was first, starting on March 10. The Super-G event followed on March 11.
The super combined race happened on March 13. This event has two parts: a Super-G run in the morning and a slalom run in the afternoon. The slalom event itself took place from March 14 to March 15. Both women and men raced during the same morning sessions. In the afternoons, women did their second run first, followed by the men.
The last para-alpine skiing race was the giant slalom. It was held on March 17 and 18. Men and women raced at the same time in the morning. In the afternoon, women raced first, with men starting about 30 minutes after them.
