History of the BSA
The Boston Society for Architecture started on June 20, 1867. About 50 architects in Boston came together to create this new group.
Since then, the BSA has grown a lot. Today, it has about 4,000 members. This makes it one of the largest parts of the AIA.
In 1870, the BSA became the main group for architects in eastern Massachusetts. It works with similar groups in Central and Western Massachusetts. Together, these three groups form AIA Massachusetts.
The BSA helps create ArchitectureBoston Magazine. This magazine shares ideas about design. They also support BSA Space, which is a gallery for public design shows. Members meet every year at the Architecture Boston Expo.

The building was designed by Höweler + Yoon Architecture. They created a special "cloud" ceiling and large stairs. These features invite people to explore the exhibits and meeting areas.
