Botkins is a small village located in Shelby County, Ohio, in the United States. In 2020, about 1,155 people lived there. It's easy to find Botkins right next to Interstate 75 at Exit 104. The village is at the very northern part of Shelby County, close to Auglaize County.

The Story of Botkins
Botkins started as a planned community in 1858. It was named after Richard Botkin. He was the person who originally owned the land where the village now stands. A post office opened in Botkins in 1877. The village officially became a village in 1881.

A Special Event in Botkins
The path of the solar eclipse of April 8, 2024 went right over Botkins. Specifically, the center of the eclipse crossed the northwest part of the village. This was a very exciting event for everyone there!
