Bowen (which used to be called Bowensburg) is a small village in Hancock County, Illinois, in the United States. In 2020, about 464 people lived there. It's a quiet place in the southeastern part of the county.
Where is Bowen?
Bowen is located in the southeastern part of Hancock County. You can find it at these coordinates: 40°13′55″N 91°3′46″W / 40.23194°N 91.06278°W. Two main roads, Illinois Route 61 and Illinois Route 94, go through the village. Route 61 comes from the east and then heads south. Route 94 comes from the north and also goes south with Route 61 for a bit. If you go north on Route 94, you'll reach Carthage, which is about 16 miles (26 km) away. Carthage is the main town for the county. Route 61 goes east to Augusta, which is about 6 miles (10 km) away. Bowen is a small village, covering about 0.43 square miles (1.11 square kilometers) of land.
