Bowen is found in a central part of Missouri, a state known for its rivers and farmlands. This community is situated right along the tracks of the St. Louis Southwestern Railway, which is a railroad line. If you travel about four miles southeast from Bowen, you'll reach the town of Windsor. Also, a road called Missouri Route 23 goes through Bowen and continues north for about ten miles, leading to Whiteman Air Force Base. To the west of Bowen, you'll find the Middle Fork of Tebo Creek flowing by.

What is Bowen's History?

The community of Bowen was first established in the early 1900s. It was given its name because of a local business called the Bowen Coal Company. This company was likely important to the area's early development. For a while, Bowen even had its own post office! The post office opened in 1907 and served the community until 1923.
