The Boxing competition at the 2010 Summer Youth Olympics was a big event for young athletes. It took place in Singapore from August 21 to August 25, 2010. Young boxers from all over the world came to compete and show their skills.

Boxing at the Youth Olympics

The Youth Olympic Games are like a smaller version of the main Olympic Games, but just for teenagers. They bring together talented young athletes from many countries. Boxing is a sport where two people wear padded gloves and punch each other in a ring. They try to score points by hitting certain areas of the opponent's body. It requires a lot of training, speed, and strategy.

The Competition Venue

The boxing matches were held at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre. This is a large building in Singapore that can host many different events. It was the perfect place for the young boxers to compete in front of a crowd.

Who Competed?

A total of 66 young boxers took part in the competition. They came from 48 different countries! All the boxers were boys, as there were 11 different weight categories for them to compete in. It was a chance for these young athletes to represent their nations and gain experience on a global stage.

Winning Medals

Just like in the main Olympics, the boxers competed for gold, silver, and bronze medals. The country that won the most gold medals in boxing was Cuba. They earned three gold medals! Other countries also did very well, showing the talent of young boxers worldwide.
