History of Boxley
Boxley was first planned out in 1836. Two people named Addison and Thomas P. Boxley created the design for the community.
This area was important for early settlers. The very first store in Adams Township was opened here. Boxley also had the first post office in the township.
The post office in Boxley started operating in 1837. It helped people send and receive mail for many years. However, the post office eventually closed down in 1907.
