Boyleston is a small, unincorporated community located in Michigan Township, Clinton County, Indiana. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's part of a larger area.
History of Boyleston
Boyleston was officially started on November 17, 1875. A man named Lewis N. Boyle, from Indianapolis, planned out the town. He chose this spot because it was along the Lake Erie and Western Railroad. Railroads were very important back then for travel and moving goods across the country.
A post office was opened in Boyleston in 1877. This meant people living there could send and receive mail easily. The post office served the community for many years, helping people stay connected. It remained open until it closed down in 1951.
