Brad McGann (22 February 1964 – 2 May 2007) was a talented New Zealand film director and screenwriter. He was known for his amazing storytelling and for bringing New Zealand stories to the big screen.

Early Life and Education
Brad McGann was born in Auckland, New Zealand, in 1964. He grew up with a love for stories and filmmaking. He studied at the University of Otago in New Zealand. Later, he went to the Swinburne School of Film and Television in Melbourne. This school is now part of the Victorian College of the Arts. There, he learned more about making films.
Starting His Filmmaking Journey
Brad McGann began his career by directing shorter films. In 1996, he directed a drama called It Never Rains. He also helped direct a documentary named Come As You Are. This documentary was made for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). He also made an award-winning short film called Possum. These early projects helped him gain experience and show his talent.
