History of Bradford
Bradford got its name from Robert E. Bradford, who was one of the first people to settle in the area. A post office, where people send and receive mail, has been open in Bradford since 1874. This shows that the town has been an active community for a long time.
In 2006, a big storm with strong winds, called a tornado, caused damage in the northern part of Bradford. Sadly, some people living nearby lost their lives.

Bradford is well-known for its successful girls' basketball team, the Bradford Lady Red Devils. They play for Bradford High School. This team has won six state championship titles in Tennessee Class A Girls' Basketball! They won in 1982, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, and 2000. That's a lot of wins!
