Brandon Fortenberry's Basketball Journey
High School and College Years
During his senior year at Picayune Memorial High School, Brandon faced a challenge. In the 2011–12 season, he played only seven games due to a foot injury. Even with this setback, he was recognized as a top player before the season started. He earned a spot on the Preseason All-Southland team.
Brandon then played college basketball for the Southeastern Louisiana Lions. He played there from 2008 to 2013. His hard work paid off, and he was named First-team All-Southland in 2013. He also made the Third-team All-Southland in 2011.
Starting His Professional Career
After college, Brandon was chosen by the Bakersfield Jam in the 6th round of the 2013 NBA Development League Draft. However, he left the team before the season began. He did not play professional basketball for a couple of years, from 2013 to 2015.
Playing in Bulgaria
In 2015, Brandon signed with Balkan Botevgrad. This team plays in the Bulgarian NBL. During the 2015–16 season, he played 33 games. He averaged 13.4 points per game, showing his scoring ability. His performance was so good that he was named the best foreign player in the Bulgarian championship for that season.
Time with Igokea
On July 22, 2016, Brandon joined Igokea for the 2016–17 season. This team plays in the ABA League. He played 15 games with Igokea. In these games, he averaged 5.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game. On January 11, 2017, he left the team.
Returning to Balkan Botevgrad
