Brandon Fortenberry's Basketball Journey
Brandon Fortenberry has played basketball for many years. He started playing in high school. Later, he played in college and then became a professional player.
High School and College Years
Brandon went to Picayune Memorial High School. During his senior year (2011–12), he played only seven games. This was because of a foot injury. Even with the injury, he was chosen as a top player for the Southland Conference before the season started.
After high school, Brandon played college basketball. He played for Southeastern Louisiana University. He played there from 2008 to 2013.
Starting His Professional Career
In 2013, Brandon was chosen in the 2013 NBA Development League Draft. The Bakersfield Jam picked him in the sixth round. The NBA Development League is now called the NBA G League. It is where players can develop their skills.
However, Brandon left the Jam before the season began. He did not play professional basketball for two years, from 2013 to 2015.
Playing in Europe
In the 2015–16 season, Brandon signed with Balkan Botevgrad. This team is part of the Bulgarian NBL. He played 33 games for them. He scored an average of 13.4 points per game. He was even named the best foreign player in the Bulgarian championship that season.
On July 22, 2016, Brandon signed with Igokea. This team is from Bosnia and Herzegovina. He played for them during the 2016–17 season. On January 11, 2017, he left the team. While playing for Igokea, he averaged 5.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game.
Later, on July 22, 2017, Brandon Fortenberry returned to Balkan Botevgrad. He continued his career with the Bulgarian team.
