Bren MacDibble (born in 1966) is a talented writer from New Zealand. She writes exciting books for children and young adults. Bren also uses another name, Cally Black, for some of her stories. She uses "Bren MacDibble" for books for younger kids and "Cally Black" for books for older teens.

About Bren MacDibble
Bren MacDibble was born in a place called Whanganui, in New Zealand. She grew up on farms across the middle of New Zealand's North Island. Later, Bren lived in Melbourne, Australia, for 20 years. Now, she lives on the west coast of Western Australia.
In 2015, Bren won a special award called the Ampersand Prize. This was for her first book for young adults, In the Dark Spaces. Soon after, her first children's book, How to Bee, was published.
Both In the Dark Spaces and How to Bee won awards in New Zealand in 2018. It was the first time an author won awards in two different categories in the same year! How to Bee also won the Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book of the Year award for younger readers that same year.
In 2018, Bren received a grant to travel and research for her children's novel, The Dog Runner.
