Early Life and Art Training
Brenna Murphy was born in 1986 in Edmonds, Washington. She studied art at the Pacific Northwest College of Art, earning a special degree called a BFA.
In 2014, Brenna spent five months at the Eyebeam Art + Technology Center in New York. This was a special time called a "creative residency." It allowed her to focus on making new art and exploring technology.

Brenna Murphy's art combines things from the digital world with physical objects. Her work has been described as unique and sometimes a bit mysterious, but also familiar.
She sees herself as a bridge between the digital and physical worlds. She believes both online art and real-life sculptures are equally important. Her sculptures can be like models of her online art, and her online art can be like models of her sculptures.
Exhibitions and Collaborations
In 2013, Brenna's exhibition called Liquid Vehicle Transmitters was shown in San Francisco, California. This show featured prints and physical versions of her internet-based art. It created an interactive space with sculptures that looked like a maze.
Another part of the exhibition included sound and video art by MSHR. This was a project she worked on with another artist named Birch Cooper.
