Brindley Lambert Wright (born May 6, 1978) is an American former professional basketball player. He played as a power forward and had a successful career, especially in Europe. Brent Wright is known for winning many championships with different teams.

Becoming a Basketball Star

Brent Wright started playing organized basketball a bit later than some. He began in 1993–94. Even with a late start, he quickly became very good. He was considered one of the top 35 high school basketball players in the country. This was when he was at Miami Senior High School in Miami, Florida.

College Basketball Journey

After high school, Brent went on to play college basketball. He joined the University of Florida team. He played for the Gators from 1997 to 2001. During his time there, the team was very strong. They made it to the NCAA Tournament three years in a row.

A big highlight of his college career was in the 1999–2000 season. Brent was part of the Florida Gators team that reached the NCAA Final Four. This is a huge achievement in college basketball.

An Unexpected Injury

During a game against Mississippi on February 21, 2001, Brent faced a challenge. His basketball shoe ripped open. This incident caused an injury to his right foot. It was a difficult moment for him during his college playing days.

Professional Career in Europe

After college, Brent Wright became a professional basketball player. He played for many teams, mostly in Europe. He became very well-known for his skills overseas.

Success with BK Ventspils

One of Brent's most successful periods was with the Latvian team BK Ventspils. In 2005, he was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the regular season in the ULEB Cup. This is a major European basketball competition. He also helped his team reach the quarterfinals of that tournament.

That same year, Brent helped Ventspils win the Latvian championship. This showed how important he was to the team's success.
