Brett Goodes was born on February 17, 1984. He used to be a professional Australian rules football player. He played for the Western Bulldogs in the Australian Football League (AFL). Brett is also the younger brother of Adam Goodes, who is a famous player for the Sydney Swans. Adam won the Brownlow Medal twice, which is a big award in AFL!

Before joining the main AFL league, Brett played for other teams. He played for North Ballarat in the Victorian Football League (VFL). He also played for NT Thunder in the Queensland Australian Football League (QAFL). Later, he started working for the Western Bulldogs as a player development manager. This job helps players get better. While working there, he also played for their reserve team, Williamstown. He played 40 games for Williamstown in 2011 and 2012. He even kicked 27 goals! In 2011, his team played in the VFL grand final but lost. Brett was a top player for Williamstown, finishing third in their best and fairest award twice. He was also named the best player in the finals in 2011.

After the 2012 season, the Western Bulldogs invited Brett to train with their main team. He was then chosen by the club as their first pick in the 2013 Rookie Draft. This meant he could officially join the AFL team!

Brett Goodes' AFL Career

Brett Goodes played his first AFL game for the Western Bulldogs in 2013. This was in the first round of the season against Brisbane Lions. The game was played at Etihad Stadium. In his second game against Fremantle, he was one of the best players on the field.

After a good first year, Brett found it harder in the 2014 season. He mostly played for the club's reserve team, the Footscray Bulldogs, in the VFL. He won the "Best and Fairest" award for that team.

At the end of the 2014 AFL season, Brett was removed from the main team list. But the Bulldogs picked him again in the 2014 rookie draft. He was then put back on the senior list before the 2015 season started. He played against West Coast in the first game of 2015.

Brett was removed from the team list again after the 2015 AFL season. This marked the end of his professional AFL playing career.
