Growing Up in Philadelphia
Brett Gray grew up in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He started acting at a very young age. His first school play was when he was only 6 years old.
First Professional Role
When he was 7, Brett performed in his first professional show. This was at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia. He loved being on stage from the start.
High School Years
Brett went to Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts. He studied Theater there. He graduated from high school in 2014, ready to pursue his acting dreams.

Starring in On My Block
Brett Gray got his first main acting role in the Netflix series On My Block. The show ran from 2018 to 2021. He played the character Jamal Turner.

Brett felt a strong connection to Jamal. He saw parts of himself in the character. He also wanted to try out physical comedy, which was new for him.
